Our training has begun into becoming disciples of Jesus that make disciples for Jesus who make disciples that follow Jesus. Thanks to the Timothy Initiative and their training material, we are well on our way to experiencing a "spirit-filled" life.
Together, we are learning some life-changing principles about God and our faith from the training material. For instance... God the Father is constantly drawing people to Jesus through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He invites and expects us to join Him in that process.
Acts 1:8 (NLT)… But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
From the gospel of John in the New Testament of the Bible (John 14:16, 17) we learn the following truths about the Holy Spirit...
1. The Father sent the Holy Spirit, at the request of Jesus.
2. Jesus described the Holy Spirit as a “Helper” and “the Spirit of truth.”
3. The Holy Spirit will be with us forever.
4. Only followers of Jesus receive the Holy Spirit.
